How to Prepare for the Most Egg-cellent Easter Egg Hunt!

in Blog, CAB Kids, Let's Party

Easter is just around the corner, so it’s time to break out the Easter eggs and prepare for the sweetest, chocolatiest time of the year! What better way to do so, than with an Easter Egg Hunt?

No matter what age you are, we know it’s always so hard to resist your favourite chocolate bunnies and eggs this time of year, so here are some tips to help you curate the perfect Easter Egg Hunt, suitable for all ages!

1. Location

The best location to host an Easter Egg hunt is one with a variety of spots to hide eggs and clues. Whether it’s your backyard, a park, or inside a building, the space does not have to be very large, all you need are good hiding places!

2. Use colourful plastic eggs

These eggs are the perfect way to incorporate different surprises into the hunt and include age-appropriate items such as small toys and candies for younger participants, and more mature items such as keychains, mini stationery or even gift vouchers or money for older participants. These eggs will also help you to protect your sweet edible surprises against pests. 3. Create a map or clues

If you want to make the Easter egg hunt more challenging, create a map or write clues to help participants find the hidden eggs. This step may take a little more time to prepare, but it will make the hunt a whole lot more fun, and give participants a bit of a challenge.

4. Easter-themed decorations

Creating the perfect Easter egg hunt would be nothing without decorations to go with it. To keep things festive, make sure that you’re decorating the designated area with props, pastel colours, bunny-themed decorations, and just about anything you can think of, to keep the Easter theme going.

You can find a few Easter-themed decorations on our website, here: https://www.cabfoods.co.za/product-category/easter-2/

5. Make sure everyone is a winner

A great way to do this is to give each participant a different colour which they will have to collect throughout the hunt. This will ensure that there are enough prizes to go around. To keep to the colour scheme, match the colour of the eggs they need to collect, to the colour of their basket.

If there are a large amount of participants, they can be divided into groups, with each group being given their own colour.

6. Have an easter-themed party after the hunt

All that hunting for eggs will definitely work up an appetite. Once all the participants have collected their eggs, have easter-themed refreshments ready for them to fuel up after their hard work. Some refreshments may include:

7. End the day with a group activity

A group activity is a great way to end an eventful day.

We recommend ending the day off with an edible easter egg painting session. Provide the group with white candy-coated chocolate eggs, food colouring and paint brushes and allow them to decorate their own Easter eggs. These will also count as a cute and self-made party favour for them to take home.
